I'm watching Ronaldinho being presented at S. Siro... they're actually doing a big bash thing, free entrance for everyone, explosions, confetti and all kinds of celebrations: you'd think he'd just single-handedly won the World Cup.

It's actually amusing, I was sniggering at the tv all the while.
The stadium is full, the Fossa is there, and Milan club had to actually stop selling season passes for the Scudetto cause they sold 3000 passes only yesterday and today the machinery went in tilt =_=;

Dude... you'd think we just bough the football's messiah or something. What the HELL?!?
Oh, and his enlightining words to the fans? 'Buonasera. Forza Milan!'

XDDDDD
*snorts*
We'll see what good he did to us by Christmas, mmh?
*is bitter, hell yes*

Italy's out.
Which was bound to happen, cause when everyone and their mama is saying Italy will go through.. these boys just let the tension slip away and suck balls =_=
Great idea having De Rossi do that free kick too, the one who screwed us over in Italy-USA.
I feel like this guy should be banned from important matches, his aura is bringing us down! XD

Jokes aside, I feel sad but I'll get over it.
I don't mind Spain going ahead, they're our brothers in a way ;)
What hurt me more was seeing Netherlands fail last night... I was hoping they'd finally get back to their glory days. But Russia is playing amazingly well, wow guys!

Tomorrow it'll be back to studying and angsting over D-Boys, with the added 'bonus' of our media talking themselves sick over Italy's demise.
Childhood memories (Part 3: Magic Anime)

It took me a while to start this (last?) part of the anime I used to watch as a kid, sorry about that. Busy week ^^;
And next week will be even worst with my father home from work =_=

Anyway, here we go!
Magic Anime.

Before I start, since this group will contain Sailor Moon... I read today in more various journals about the death of the actress who starred as the third Sailor Moon in SeraMyu, Kanbe Miyuki. She was only 24... ;__;
May she rest in peace.

Now...
We had tons, and I mean tons of anime with magic girls... and some sporadic guy.
It's really hard to chose between all of these.
I'll give you the ones who seemed to be more successful in Italy.

L'incantevole Creamy (Mahou no Tenshi Creamy Mami)

Typical plot with the regular girl finding a magic object and having a magic alter-ego. In this case Creamy, a purple-haired popular singer.
This opening and its 'Paripanpu!' verse became legend! XD

PARIPAMPU!
<lj-embed id="29" />

Magica Emi (Mahou no Star Magical Emi)
Maybe considered the anime direct 'rival' of Creamy in Italy, just because of the similar plot.
Although Emi wasn't a singer but a magician :p

<lj-embed id="30" />

E' quasi magia, Johnny (Orange Road)
One of the most popular anime in Italy, but a peculiar one.
It was 'promoted' as a magical anime centered around a boy,Johnny.
But in reality, the magical aspect is not the focus of this story. Yes, Johnny is a guy with magical powers. But the plot revolves around the love triangle between him and 2 other girls, one funny and out-going, the other serious and mysterious.
What I always found interesting was the characterization of the 2 girls: Tina, the easy-going girl, is portrayed with a boyish hair-cut and style, yet she's the sensitive and feminine of the two.
Sabrina, the serious one, has dark long hair, green eyes and appears to be your classical sophisticated girl in the beginning... but turns out she was the actual tomboy in the past.

Ok... no more talking, watch it! XD

<lj-embed id="31" />

And now we get to the big one (and the ones sprung from it)...
<lj-embed id="32" />

Sailor Moon, la luna splende (aka Sailor Moon R):
<lj-embed id="33" />

Sailor Moon e il cristallo del cuore (SM and the heart's crystal, aka Sailor Moon S)
My favorite serie and my favorite opening :)
<lj-embed id="34" />

Sailor Moon e il mistero dei sogni (SM and the mystery of dreams, aka Sailor Moon SS)
The 'wannabe-badass' opening, with electric guitars and all XD

<lj-embed id="35" />

Petali di stelle per Sailor Moon (Sailor Moon Stars)
The most ridiculous SM title and opening. Literally: Sailor Moon and the petals of the stars o.O?

<lj-embed id="36" />

Countless anime serie were inspired by Sailor Moon and we got quite a lot of them.
Some slightly more original, some down-right plagiarizing Sailor Moon.
One example for all: Wedding Peach.

<lj-embed id="37" />

I could go on forever on this genre... but allow me to post two more that you might recognize.

Una porta socchiusa ai confini del sole (translated: A half-open door on the borderline of the sun (?_?) aka, Magic Knight Rayearth)

Anime by CLAMP!
It was probably one of the less popular worldwide, compared to Card Captor Sakura or Tsubasa Chronicles, but in Italy it was a huge success.
My current icon comes from it :P

<lj-embed id="38" />

Un incantesimo dischiuso fra i petali del tempo (literally 'An enchantment enclosed between the petals of time' ... WTF is up with Italy and petals?! True title: Slayers. Rings any bells? :P )
Ridiculous title aside, I liked this song :P

<lj-embed id="39" />

I'm done, promise! XD

Although I was thinking about making one more post for anime based on books and classic stories... would you be interested in it?

I'm having way too much fun with this... so tonight you get part 2 of the anime that accompanied my childhood and their crazy openings.
Speaking of crazy, tonight you get the sports anime, with their defiance of every physics laws! >D

Let's start slow and mellow, with:

Hilary (Hikari no Densetsu)

The perfect sport anime for us girls... about a gymnastic. It was pretty short, just 19 episodes, but it got shown over and over again for years.
I even managed to get royally pissed off at the stupidity of this girl for picking the blue-eyed athletic guy over her rock-ish childhood friend. He loved you all along! And you picked the guy who has feeling for both you and your rival!!
*cough* Err... here! Hilary! :D

<lj-embed id="23" />

But now... for those of you not really familiar with the absurdity of this kind of anime, let me introduce you to 2 volleyball anime.

Mimì e la nazionale della pallavolo (translated: Mimì and the volleyball national team, original title Attack n°1)

Mimì... the girl who showed us all what a tragedy it is to be a volleyball player.
Cause inevitably, your boyfriend will die in a car accident during one of your finals. And to become stronger, the only way would be to train yourself by hitting the ball with chains on your wrists.
And you gotta be careful, cause if you train in the mountains you might slip, cut yourself on a metal surface and get TETANUS from it!
(I KID YOU NOT. She got tetanus in the anime!) XD

Here's Mimi, with her 'drop of cyclone smash', her chains and her twists in the air to get the ball.

<lj-embed id="24" />

Mila e Shiro, due cuori nella pallavolo (Milan and Shiro, 2 hearts in volleyball aka 'Attacker you')

Now this anime was better. Mila was a tomboy red-head with a cheeky side, much more reliable than Mimì. Magic of the italian adaptation, even though they were two totally separated anime by separate authors, Mila is introduced as Mimi's cousin in our version XD
We have the usual breaking of physics laws thanks to Mila and her ability to jump exactly 1.75 meter in the air (no joke) and her ultra-super-mega-fabulous smashes.
Shiro, the boy she's obsessed with, appears very little in the anime but somehow he ended up in the title... something that will happen again in another sport anime... but for now, here's Mila!

<lj-embed id="25" />

And now the most famous (infamous?) one.

Holly & Benji (Captian Tsubasa)
Some of you know this anime as well... football anime with really amazing games between elementary kids, that can play with broken legs and shoulders, jumps in the air, score from one side of the field to the other with one kick, even though it can sometime takes a full episode to reach the other side of the field at a run...

Also, for some inexplicable reason, the italian version put Genzo in the title (the goalie) even though he appears for half od the first season and then move to Germany... he'll come back for the national games and all, but seriously, why Genzo? Why not Taro or even Hyuga?
We had more than one opening to this anime cause it kept getting refined and remastered in Japan too... blame angelalia if you get all 3 versions :P

80s opening:
<lj-embed id="26" />

90s opening:
<lj-embed id="27" />

Techno 2000 opening (bop ya head to it, yo! XD):
<lj-embed id="28" />

That's it for today folks XD

I was talking with angelalia and somehow I ended up looking for an old anime opening to show her...
And now I've been transported down memory-lane, remembering all the silly anime I used to watch as a kid and the retarded italian openings we had.

I've got to share some of these gems with you, so not only you'll see what kind of child I was, but also so you can behold the italian power to totally butcher anime names and theme songs. XD

It was hard to pick just a few... so I have to cut it into different posts.
Tonight you get the first part.
Following should be Sport Anime and Magic Anime :P

Pollon
This was one of my favorite anime. It was hilarious!
Italian title was 'C'era una volta Pollon' which translates to 'Once upon a time there was Pollon..'(better knows as Pollon combinaguai= Pollon the troublemaker).
It was the story of Pollon, daughter of the roman god Apollo and granddaughter of Zeus (yeah, they mixed greek and roman names), who spent her days in the Olympe making trouble for all the other gods with her best friend, Eros (who was an absolute retard). This girl was my hero XD

<lj-embed id="13" />

Jem
This was the coolest opening we had in italian. The story followed Jem, the lead-singer of a female rock-band.
It was badass for us kids, yo! XD

<lj-embed id="14" />

Lady Oscar
Oh, Lady Oscar. Italian translation of 'Versailles no bara', which was the story of this girl, living in France during the reign of Louis XVIII and Marie Antoinette, who was raised as a boy by her father and became the chief of the Queen's guards.
Sad ending, she dies during the Storming of the Bastille fighting on the side of the low class.

Listening to the italian opening is worthy it just to hear the singer near-orgasm eveytime she pronounces Oscar's name in the chorus XD

<lj-embed id="15" />

Occhi di gatto (Cat's Eyes)
Anime by Tsukasa Hojo, better known maybe for City Hunter.
It's the story of 3 sisters who run a bar by day and work as antics' thieves by night. Typically, the detective pursuing them is one of the sisters' boyfriend.
These 3 girls shaped my childhood... I played impersonating them with my friends countless times, fighting everytime over which sister we'd get to be XD

<lj-embed id="16" />

Kiss me Licia (Ai Shite Knight)
The story of a girl and her troubled romance with 'Mirko', lead-singer of a rock-band.
Important anime here in Italy, it was the only one from which an italian drama was produced.
The band's songs became really popular and the actors used for the band in the drama actually went on working as the 'Bee-Hive', holding concerts to this day XD
To this day, I have no idea why Licia is blonde in the opening... Licia is actually the brunette you see in some of the scene...

Anime:
<lj-embed id="17" />

Drama (XD):
<lj-embed id="18" />

(And you also get my favorite Bee-Hive song... I LOVE IT!) XD
Baby I love You:
<lj-embed id="19" />

Candy Candy
My grandmother was big on this anime, but it was too much for me...
Candy was the classical Mary Sue, orphan kid who warmed everyone's heart. *rolleyes*
It got more and more ridiculous as you went on with it. Her first love was a blonde prince who dies after falling from a horse.
She gives up on her other love (the classical bad boy) after another girl fell in love with him... and get this: the other girl was an actress who got in an accident on stage. A light fell down on her leg and she had to have it amputated, so Candy from the oh so kind heart gave up her love for her... shoot.me.now. XDD
Nonetheless I watched this quite a lot thanks to grandma so here it is!

<lj-embed id="20" />

Georgie
The other manga/anime by Yumiko Igarashi that made it big here.
Not all anime big in Italy featured goody-two-shoes girls. Or better, not all 80s japanese anime did... there was Georgie :P
I found out the truth about this anime only in my high-school years, but this anime was HEAVILY CENSORED here. There were some tangled romantic webs.
Georgie was adopted by a woman with 3 sons. And all 3 sons fall for her. Suffice to know that she had a relationship with one of the brothers, and then toward the end she has a son by another one XD
So here's the 'kinky' Georgie! XD

<lj-embed id="21" />

And if you want to know why this anime was censored... have one of the 'steamy scenes' :P
(nudity involved)
<lj-embed id="22" />

And I'll end it here for tonight... this took a long-ass time! And it's LONG! XD
Sorryyy!

I felt like posting something, since I've been more boring than usual lately XD

So first you get a meme, snagged from the lovely lady_hiwatari:
How this works: you comment, I give you a letter, you go and post five songs beginning with that letter, with uploads if you're in the mood.

My letter was M.

1. Miss you - M-flo loves Melody and Ryohei
And you also get THIS REMIX cause I love it almost more than the original.

2. Mille giorni di te e di me - Claudio Baglioni
(translated: A thousand days of you and me. Italian song, just about the only one I like by this artist. But try as I might I can't stop to love it)

3. Makes me wonder - Maroon 5
(I actually like this band. I liked the first album more, this was probably the best song on the second one)

4. Maniac - Falshdance OST
(Boy, do I love this song... I can never keep still when I hear it)

5. Memorial address - Ayumi Hamasaki
(The song that turned me into an Ayumi fan. I didn't listen to japanese music before)

Let me know if you like the songs!

I wanted to make a silly fandom post, but I guess I'll do it later... :P

So here's the 7 interests meme, tagged by lady_hiwatari

Comment and I'll list 7 interests from your profile in a reply. Then you do an entry about what they mean and why you are interested in them.

1. Psychology
I even forgot some of the interests I picked when I created this journal xD
I picked this one cause I've always been fascinated by psychology and the way the human mind works. And I've been told I seem to have a knack for picking up what the people around me are feeling or thinking, dunno how true that is though ^^;
My aunt used to tell me I should have gone for a psychology degree after I was the only one in the family that realized something was bothering her (turn out she was expecting my third cousin ^^;).

2. Echizen Eyoma
It's pretty unpopular to like this guy in the PoT fandom, uh?
And it's kind of weird for me, cause usually I always end up being annoyed by the main character , yet I like Ryoma XD
He's an unapologetic brat, yet he really grows through the serie. You can see him slowly learning to care and he's a pretty original main character. Still I have to admit I was hoping he'd lose at least one official game... no bigger learning experience than facing loss and humiliation for someone like him.

3. Queen
The UK band, do you know it?
I have to admit I loved them, I still do. They're probably my all time favorite band. So many great song, and Freddy Mercury was... outside of this world. That voice! *_*

4. Monet
My favorite painter. My favorite art movement is Impressionism. I just love his style... maybe it's yet another testament to my weird tastes cause my favorite painting of his in not even that famous ans it's pretty anonimous. But I LOVE it *blush*
This one: http://www.copia-di-arte.com/kunst/claude_monet/felsen_belle_isle.jpg
I saw it 'live' in an exhibition and the colors were breathe-taking, all the shades of blue... you can't see them in photographs.

5. Toboe
Aww, Toboe! <3
He's a character from Wolf's Rain, anyone knows the anime (the manga was rather crappy in comparison)?
Poor puppy was adorable... and the first to die ;__;
But I loved how he was able to make Tsume open up and trust again... Gah! I miss them! Shame the fandom was always so small.

6. Yanagi Yotaroh
Oh, you shouldn't have asked this. Do you know how dangerous it is? XD
I'll try to control myself... :P
I think everyone who reads this blog knows by now how much I love this boy, even those who don't even know WHO he is.
I could tell you I love him cause I admire his will and strength and a bunch of other nice sounding things... but when it really boil down to it, I just adore his randomness. He's an unapologetic WEIRDO and he's not ashamed of it XD
Now all I need to be less obsessive is to stop fearing he'll stop working next year. Why do I keep feeling this way? X|

7. Tea
I'm seriously addicted to tea. I don't know even know when or how it started. My parents hate it.
All I know is I started trying and collecting more and more types of tea and now it's part of me, really XD
Actually, I'm having Jasmine tea at the moment :P

I think I just proved myself as the boring weirdo that I am. Cheers! XD

XD

Apparently Kaji will have a big role in the play again and that's great. With Yuyan gone, he's probably the best actor in the regular cast. Shirota is a regular but I doubt he'll have time to rehearse for a big part with all the extra stuff he's doing (plus as far as acting skills go, I still think Kaji is better).

I like the idea of rival school-teams. According to my faithful <strike>enabler</strike> translator Yanagi just showed up to greet Takki at a 3-way interview Takki was having with Kiriyama and Trystan. xD
This is what happens when you gush about him the day before: he thinks it's fair game to stalk you! xDDD ).
In a way it's cute how Takki says he wishes he could work one day on stage with Yanagi... maybe it'll happen!
For now Yanagi scored another leading role for a stage play in August tho >D

Anyway folks, how are you?
I've tried to keep up at least with my F List as much as I could, but if I missed something or you wish to let me know anything, fire away! ^o^

A differen kind of holiday

Today was a national holiday.
I was supposed to spend the day boring myself to tears with my parents at home, since my BF was trying to get some much needed sleep after starting her job (I'm meeting her tomorrow evening with some of the other girls for pre-dinner drinks).

Instead I decided to take up on the out-of-the-blue invite I got yesterday from one of my jap classmates and went out for lunch with her.
We were supposed to eat chinese with a friend of hers, but we ended up having an extra guy and eating japanese :P
It was fun!
They're pretty laid back, and 2 of them share my love for japanese things, obviously XD

Somehow lunch turned into an 'all day hanging out' experience with basically ALL of her friends showing up.
We just sat at a bar and drank ginseng iced tea and talked about italian anime openings XDDD
It was refreshing, since none of my friends give a crap about anime or japanese things in general. I can't talk to any of them about the stuff I talk about on here... I told them about my japanese course and they looked at me funny with a face that clearly said 'Why?' before switching to a different topic XD

It was different talking with people who actually understand what I'm talking about and sometimes even know more than me about it XD

Still, I'm glad I'll see my small group again tomorrow.
It's been too long since we managed to be all free to meet. And Elena graduated uni recently so we'll probably celebrate her :P

And an envelope working as our wallet, with different yen amounts written on sheets of paper XDDD

I think she's really planned the course for someone who needs japanese for an imminent trip to Japan and that's too bad :\
4 out of 5 of us wants to focus on the actual reading and writing, only 1 is interested in immediate day-to-day japanese.

Oh well, it's still japanese XD
Guess at the end of the course I'll try to self-teach myself the rest.

Now, if only this annoying cold would pass already...
I finally finished watching this drama.
I'm glad I decided to check it out.
For those who don't know it's a drama about 4 vampires with a slight shonen-ai theme (which probably is more evident in the manga).

It's nothing earth-shattering, but really if you want 'earth-shattering' I doubt a japanese drama is the place to look for it.
But I really enjoyed it. It went against a lot of vampire-cliché and the concept of vampires seeking company and wanting a family was somewhat different, enjoyable.

Surprisingly, I also liked all the characters. Even Ami, as annoying as she was, had her good moments. I liked her in the episode where Makoto run away from home.
I really liked Makoto, the lead character, but my favorite was probably Masakazu.
His 'irresponsibility', his apparently caring only about himself and getting girls... and how all of that disappears the minute one of the guys he considers his 'family' is in trouble.
He's so lovable, and his scenes with Haruka were priceless |D

All in all, I'd def. recommend you to check it out if you have time ^^

There's only one thing that drives me nuts about this serie. There seems to be no fandom for it.
No fansites, no fanwork, no fics, no communities... nothing ;__;

We'll spend the afternoon together and then I'll catch the 6PM train back to Milan.
It's gonna be a Tour De Force but who cares, who knows when we'll have another chance to meet.

I'm filling up my iPod now with new songs (any suggestions? English/American or Japanese ones?).
I'll be armed with an Ann Rice novel for the train trip and bringing fangirling material for our meeting, as per Sonia request.
She wants me to try to convert her to the Yanagi Love, and who am I to say no to that? >D

Anyway, I won't be around tomorrow. You kids behave yourselves! :P
